After several tries, I gave up.

Deep inside, I knew dinalaw ako ni Lord, hindi ako kinilabutan or natakot or namangha.

The man tried to convince me for a few more seconds then he gave up na rin.

Lalo akong nagsisi...

Lord, kung ikaw yun,  sorry po ....

God Bless Japan

I was watching GMA News TV this morning and I was touched by the news delivered by Chino Gaston on how Japanese were coping with the current crisis in their country.

* There's an abandoned food stall inside the Sendai airport where some people are taking shelter.  They're running out of food, but not one dared to take food from the abandoned food stall.

*One grocery marked down the prices of the commodities they are selling.  They limit the number of items a customer can buy so that there will be enough for many people.

*Students on the streets offer free rice balls.

*People line-up for hours but remained calm, followed social order and patiently waited for their turn.

*Most don't want to leave Sendai because they want to help rebuild their community.

*Chino suggested to their driver that since they're running out of fuel, why don't they just take the fuel of damaged vehicles but his driver declined, saying he doesn't want to go to hell...

As one televiewer has texted, God truly knows who to test.... God knows the Japanese can overcome this trial...

To Japan, we learned a lot from you, we salute you and we will continue to pray for you....

Here's a link to Chino Gaston's Journey.
Here's another story on Japanese Resilience during this crisis.

Isang Tanong, isang sagot...

--- Most likely... hmmm...parang ayaw ko pa ah....
iba na nga lang, Maganda ba ko? --- Outlook not so good.... waaaaaaahhhhhhh....kundi lang mahal yung HTC binato ko na yun eh.
Trying again, I asked, "pangit ba ko?"  --- Better not tell you now...kaasaaaaaaarrrr!!!!
Trying to salvage my self-confidence, I asked naughtily "sige na nga, magaling ba ko?" --- It is decidedly so...hahaha!!! natawa kami ni Paul.... hmmm....pwede, bumabawi...
Isa pang naughty question, "eh masarap ba ko?" --- "As I see it, yes" yeessss!!!  hahahahaha!!!!  tawa kami nang malakas ni Paul...pwede na...
Then I said, "ah gaganti ako sa yo Daddy" and asked the magic-8 ball "Gwapo ba si Daddy?"
--- Yes.... nooooooohhhhh!!!!
"Eh bukas, malas pa rin?" --- As I see it, yes.....  hindddeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Makakatapos na ba ng writing si Yuan? ---Yes... hay, salamat, may hope pa!!!

---
sinunod ang tanong sa stocks...
tataas ba ang ALI today?  My reply is no.... hayst!
Eh ang ELI? Outlook not so good......patay....
Eh ang MER? Don't count on it.... sagot ni Paul, s"abi sa yo honey eh wala na yan"...
Eh ang SMC? As I see it, yes.... aba, aba ......

"yung galing mo! hahahaha!"
may duda pa ba kung kanino nagmana sina Yuan at Yuro sa hiritan? hehehe

During work days, sandali lang ang morning moments namin ni Paul and this morning was certainly a fun one... kahit pa inokray ako ng Magic 8-ball na yan! hehehe. :)

Good Morning World! :)

Murphy's Law.....

if something can go wrong, it will go wrong...

Triny kong irepair ang Windows through xp installer cd kaso nag-error yung installer, merong file not found.  Nagsearch ako about the file, normal daw yun sa non-original copies of XP.

As advised by friends, pinartition ko ang HDD - 40gig for OS and apps, 120gig for my personal files.

Inisip ko, iuninstall ko uli lahat nung motherboard drivers, then reinstall uli from the CD.  ganun kasi nangyri sa akin dati.

As of this writing, mukhang huminto na uli sya at 1.5MB!!! grrr....

whooo... saaaaa.....

----
update:
So no choice, bili na ng bagong installer.
Next install, Avira.  After mainstall, nagwarning, may malware sa windows file! waaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

Hirit Bata

Parang mommy lang...
I really should watch what I say cause chances are maririnig ko yun mula kay Yuro....

1.  Yuro said something that I did not understand so I asked "Ano?", akalain mong ang sinagot sa akin ay "wala, sabi ko maganda ikaw."

2.  Once, Yuro was talking and since I was doing something else, I just keep saying "oo"....ang sagot ni Yuro "oo ka nang oo diyan eh!"

3.   Yuro said "Mommy, halika lang"
Me: wait lang (I was washing the dishes kasi)

1.  while Yuro was playing megablocks, he asked  "Mommy ano gusto mong gawin ko?"
      Ang sagot ko, "Kalabaw"
when what I saw didn't look like a carabao to me, I asked "Ano yan?"
Yuro said "Kalabaw. Di ba sabi mo kalabaw?"
ba't kasi nagtanong pa ko eh....

2.  I was closing our gate when Yuro suddenly crossed the street.
I ran after him and said "Yuro, hwag ka basta basta tatawid.  Eh kung masagasaan ka?"
     Yuro (nakangisi):  "E di patay.."
kung di lang cute ang batang ito......

Maanghang kaya yun?"
Sagot ni Yuan "syempre, sili eh!"
     at tumawa si Paul!

4.  Yuan while holding his Smart Cube toy said to his yaya "Ate, laro tayo nito."
      no comment ang yaya.

     hehe, wala akong lusot.

In 2010, I learned and realized that....

in no particular order...
  • Reality bites and it hurts the most when you're left with no other choice but to accept it.
  • Not all people are as nice/bad or as happy/sad as they seem.
  • Sometimes, you won't get a second chance.
  • Optimism gives hopes but too much of it can lead to procrastination and missed opportunities.
  • I don't like having a maid but I need the help they provide.
  • Rejection is still my biggest weakness and I better learn to handle it before it totally breaks me.
  • We all get depressed sometimes and depending on how you use it, Facebook can lessen or aggravate that depression.
  • In motherhood, giving up is never an option.  And these days, keeping your family together is a big accomplishment.
  • Sometimes, it's best to just not care at all.
  • It's all a matter of perspective and inspirations are everywhere.
  • There's the terrible twos but there are also more terrible threes and hard-headed eights. hehehe
  • Kahit gaano ka-pasaway ang kids (and hubby na rin hehehe), at the end of the day  you'll appreciate them as your greatest blessing.  "At the end of the day" means pag tulog na sila...hehehe, joke.
  • masakit sa bulsa maging tanga at magastos maging malungkot.
  • True friends never fail to brighten your days.
  • There have been better days and there will be better days.
  • Nothing beats living in the same house with your best friend. :)
looking forward to more of  life's lessons in 2011.  Happy New Year! :)

    My year that was

    in no particular order....

    The Bad
    The December Depression Ordeal.
Failed Marriages/Failed Relationships (not mine, thank God)
Yuan still doesn't or can't complete his notes.
    Yuro's whining has become worse.

    The Neutral
Looked forward to 5 weddings, ended up attending only 2.
No yaya for 8 out of 12 months - loved the privacy but tired of household work.
    Facebook time
    Yuan's satisfactory school grades.
First time to vote but Noynoy won...hehehe

    The Best
Generally, good health for my whole family.
Our family getaways in and out of town.
Everyday bonding with my boys...or should I say every minute, kasi wala naman akong yaya halos the whole year, hehe
Yuro's milestones - daytime potty trained and weaned from bottle feeding
Another milestone for Yuan- First Communion
    A different Christmas celebration
    Kitakits with friends
Dates and private moments with Paul

I've had better years but I'm still very thankful for all our blessings this past year.
To family and friends who have been part of my 2010, thank you so much for the memories.
Happy New Year! May this year be a better one for all of us. :)

    Tao Lang

I hit my lowest.  I cried the most tears I've ever cried in my whole life.  If I had any consolation, it was that this happened during Yuan's exams week and Christmas week.  At least, I was busy. But tears would fall every time I'm alone and had nothing to do. I reached my limits in sadness, tolerance, patience and disappointments.  I knew it was building up and this month little Miss "Okay lang" broke down.  Suddenly, nothing seemed to be "okay lang" anymore.  It's like I've been slapped with the realities of life - my misses, my faults, my flaws, my too much assumptions.  I felt rejected, under appreciated, tired, lonely, sad, depressed.  I felt I was a failure in so many ways. I lost my self-esteem.

But God is good and Paul was with me throughout the ordeal.  I haven't fully recovered, but I've stopped crying and I'm hopeful that I will be better-than-okay soon...:)

    R.S.V.P.

Magfollow-up ka after a few days, sasabihin hindi siya makapunta.  Kakairita!  Ganun ka-importante kailangang ifollow-up?!  Isa lang ibig sabihin nyan, the receiver doesn't care....hay.

Scenario 2: "Titingnan ko".   I usually send out invites at least two weeks before so friends could mark their calendars early and minsan nakakatampo rin when the answer would be "titingnan ko" which would end up as "cannot make it" a few days before the event. In other words, secondary lang....  Nakakatampo kasi you gave importance to someone and yet hindi ka pala ganun kaimportante.... I love friends who say  "sure na yan ha, mark ko na calendar ko" or pagkatanggap ng invite kayang-kayang sumagot ng "sure, punta me" or "sorry, may plans na ako" or  wala bang ibang date?" (kung kitakits).

Scenario 3: Hindi ka nainvite.  Hehehe, as a guest, nakakatampo rin pag hindi ka nainvite....kasi ibig sabihin, you are not important enough to make it to the guest list.

Hehehe, eto ang other side nung scenario 1, so chances are, deadma ang react mo! hahaha! Ang importante, respond promptly and in a polite manner.  :)

Remember the walang kamatayang quote na: “Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option”....Ang problema ko,  ako ay isa sa maraming ngok-ngok na hanggang ngayon ay hindi makasunod sa advice na iyan....hay....

    Hong Kong!

Hong Kong was not on our list of must-visit places in the world.  And if my mother has not subsidized most of the expenses, Paul and I wouldn't have considered going there. We went to Hong Kong for the kids.  Our main agenda was Hong Kong Disneyland.  We didn't expect much but as it turned out, it was a fun, enjoyable, tiring and bitin first out-of-the-country trip for our family (with Yuro that is).  Months spent on planning and research made us realize that there's a lot to see and experience in Hong Kong.  The kids loved the place so much and with it's many attractions, Paul and I even considers going back there someday...***fingers crossed***  :)

Anyway, blog on our trip is on the following posts:

    Hong Kong Disneyland

    Hong Kong Ocean Park

    Other Hong Kong Attractions

Searching for a city hotel in Hong Kong

    Hong Kong Disneyland

Thanks to all friends who suggested that we stay at least for 1 night at a Disney Hotel.  It was so worth it.

    The Hotel
There are two hotels in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort - the Disneyland Hotel and the Disney's Hollywood Hotel.  The former has a Victorian style while the later as the name implies, is Hollywood themed. Apart from the fact that the former is pricier than the latter, I chose Disney's Hollywood Hotel because I have 2 sons and I think the Hollywood theme will be better for them.  The elegance of Disneyland Hotel will be best enjoyed by girls as the ambiance would make them feel like a princess.  We (me and my two kids) saw pictures of room freebies from both hotels online- Hollywood has Mickey prints, while Disneyland Hotel has Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, that sealed the decision. :)
I bought a value annual pass for Yuan, that way I was able to avail of discounts for the room and the breakfast. Actually, the total cost was only about 100HKD less than if I availed of their room promos, but still, I saved a few dollars and Yuan has an annual pass. :)
Hotel guests are entitled for a two-day pass at the park at a discounted price - one day pass is at 350HKD, two-day pass is at 390HKD.  Of course we bought the two-day pass.
Hollywood Hotel has a pool.  We were not able to use it as it too cold to swim.  I read from their website that during summer, Goofy swims there once in a while. :)
The hotel room was more roomy than our city hotel room. It has 2 double beds.  It has a big LCD TV with cable channels and one with Disney shows and movies throughout the day.  There's a bathtub, hair dryer, phone and electric kettle, no fridge. What I loved the most? - the full body mirror!  We booked a sea view room, but you have to looked past the pool to see a glimpse of the sea.
Mickey mouse sign is all over the place - shower curtain, the hotel signage, elevator, on benches, on hallway carpets, on the playground..  The hotel's restaurant is called Chef Mickey.

    The Breakfast

We had breakfast at the Enchanted Garden in the Disneyland Hotel.  There, Mickey Mouse and Friends visited each table to say hello to guests and allowed us to take pictures with them.  Reservation is required and inter-hotel guests are allowed to book only 15 days before their room reservation date.
Breakfast is a buffet of international cuisine - Western and Asian.  The kids loved the Mickey Mouse waffles and pancakes. :)  Annual pass holders get 10% discount for himself and up to 7 guests.  In other words, it's just like dining without tax/service charge.

Why did I say that staying in a Disneyland Hotel is worth it ?  :  because it feels different sleeping and waking up in Disneyland.  It's like starting and ending your day in Fantasy land.  :)

    The Park
The park is pretty small and that made it enjoyable to explore.  There are lots of  restaurants and shops within the park.  On our two day visit, we let the children choose which attractions to visit and those were the park train, Astroblasters, Autopia, Jungle Cruise, Philarmagic, Tarzan's Tree House and Golden Mickeys.  The kids enjoyed Astroblasters the most, while I loved the Golden Mickeys.  The parade is suspended for the first 2 weeks of November, maybe they need to redesign their floats after the Halloween thingy.  They only announced this in their website sometime around September or October.  But it was okay as all characters were present at the Golden Mickeys show. We were in the park Thursday-Friday so the lines were not that long.  They say it can get really crowded on weekends.  The fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty's Castle was really nice, it gives you the feeling that you are indeed in Fantasy Land.  The fireworks used were common but the location made all the difference.

Our Disneyland Experience is what the kids enjoyed most during our stay in Hong Kong and that made it the best part of our trip. :)

This Park is huge and very tiring to explore and they have no strollers for rent.  There are a lot interesting attractions, though.  If you are into thrill rides, then this is the Hong Kong theme park for you.  There are no thrill rides in Hong Kong Disneyland apart from the Space Mountain.  But since we in the family is not into that, we explored the other attractions.  We were there on a Saturday, so it's a bit crowded and there's considerable waiting time in the attractions.

Our first stop was the Sky Star.  It is one very big hot air balloon, tied to the ground.  Once on top, the view was very nice.  When I was planning our Ocean Park visit, this was on top of my list.  This is probably the only time I would ever get to ride a hot air balloon. A ride during the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Subic costs 7k per person!  But of course, this was different as the ride was very big and it was tied to ground.  The ascent and descent was very gentle and only a slight swing was caused by the wind.

Next on my list was the Jelly Spectacular and it was indeed spectacular!  As in!  It's a must see.  It's a room designed like a maze with cylindrical aquariums all over the place. Our next stop was the Atoll Reef -  it's like  Manila Ocean Park's Oceaniarium and Singapore's Underwater World.  But Singapore has a longer tunnel and Manila has a swim with sharks attraction.  There were so many people and the hallway with the big aquarium was pretty crowded, but the aquarium was huge and really worth seeing.

We also rode on the merry-go-round wherein you ride on sea creatures instead of horses.  The pandas on the Great Panda Habitat were sleeping.  We skipped the shows.  For some reason, the kids were not interested, maybe because they've been to Subic just a couple of months back.  Yuan tested his skill in maneuvering an  RC boat.  We also road the Ocean Express, which aims to give you a feel of travelling underwater but didn't quite deliver.  We skipped the cable cars, we've had enough at Ngong Ping.

You'll need a day to enjoy Ocean Park and there are still a lot of construction going on..  Like Disneyland, it's a must see in Hong Kong as there are a lot in there that's not here in Manila.  But again, it's a big park so make sure you plan your visit well and prepare yourself for a lot of walking.

    Other Hong Kong Attractions

    Ngong Ping 360
This is the longest cable car ride in Hong Kong and the view during the ride was really nice even though it was rainy and quite foggy when we went there.  It's a must experience in Hong Kong.  We all enjoyed the crystal cabin ride wherein the floor of the cabin was also clear glass.  We didn't bother to climb to the monastery.  Honestly, I didn't like the look of the Big Buddha because it is gray...very cement-like.  Since I've been to Bangkok before, I've had the impression that Buddhas should be gold...hehehe.

    Avenue of Stars
This one is a tourist trap.  Don't bother going here unless you're a fan of Chinese stars.  There's also what they call Symphony of Lights held every night in this area.  That's another tourist trap, a waste of time and electricity.  It's supposed to be a lights and sound show.  There were lights and music, yes but I won't consider it a show. Sorry.  I'm not being harsh, I'm just being honest.

    Ladies Market, Mongkok
We were there around 10pm and the whole street was so well lit, it's fascinating!  It's like a flea market, and the best place to buy "Hong Kong" souvenirs - t-shirts, pens, keychains...but you should know how to haggle.  We could have explored this area more but the kids were already too tired.  They say the Mongkok area is also the best place to try authentic Hong Kong dishes.

    The Victoria Peak
This they say it's the most visited attraction in Hong Kong.  It's the highest point in Hong Kong that gives a great view of the city.  We rode a tram to reach the peak and it's a pretty exciting ride. We went there early in the morning but they say the view is better at night, maybe because of the lights.  But we were pretty fascinated with what we saw.
Fom the Admiralty MTR Station, you can reach the Peak Tram terminus through a pleasant walk in the Hong Kong Park.
    The Hong Kong Park
The Hong Kong park is really nice - very pleasant, calming and relaxing, a perfect way to start our last day in HK.  It has a fountain, an artificial lake and a playground.  We didn't have time to go to the playground, though.

    The Hong Kong Space Museum
Since our Hong Kong trip was mainly for the kids, not to mention that Yuan is fascinated with space, rockets and space shuttles, I decided to add this to our itinerary.  It's a good place for kids to visit, and the HK$10 fee is worth it.

    The Monastery of 10,000 Buddhas
This was the last part of our itinerary and no, we didn't reach the monastery.  The climb to the monastery consisted of more than 300 steep steps and at that time, we weren't fit enough to reach it considering that we have 2 kids with us.  And also, we had time constraints.  What we did see where several statues of monks in different poses lining the steps to the monastery.  The train ride to Sha Tin was also quite an experience as we get to see another side of Hong Kong, different from the skyscrapers of the city.  It doesn't have an official website, just google it. :)

    The Hong Kong Hotel Search

I have to blog about this, as in kailangan ko lang talagang iblog because weird and interesting ang experience ko sa paghahanap ng city hotel online.

As early as August, nabook ko na ang Disney's Hollywood Hotel where we spent our first night sa Hong Kong.  Ang kulang na lang eh city hotel for our 2nd and 3rd nights.

I had a simple criteria in looking for a hotel less than 5k/rm/night, has two single beds and near MTR station. Sangdamakmak na reviews ang binasa ko online from tripadvisor, agoda and booking.com.  Kung kami lang ni Paul ang aalis, walang problema, kahit saan pwede kami magstay kaso kasama kids so we had to find a place that's safe and comfortable for them.

First hotel I've picked is JJ Hotel.  Early October, I booked a room through booking.com and indicated that we are a couple with two kids and prefers a twin bed room.. JJ Hotel was quick to respond that they have no twin bed room available.

Second on my list was YWCA Anne Black guesthouse.  Some tag it as a two star hotel, others as a hostel.  The reviews were really nice, the only downside is, it's a 15minute walk to the nearest MTR station- Mongkok.  May katabing library na free ang wifi, may malapit na bus stations and maayos and safe daw ang surrounding.  From the pictures on the net, mukhang spacious naman yung room at may option to add an extra bed.  So after I cancelled my reservation with JJ, I booked Anne Black.  Since it's a no cancellation fee booking, I continued to search for a hotel even after I've booked Anne Black, hindi kasi ako comfortable dun sa 15 minute walk considering that we're travelling with kids.

So nagtatanong-tanong ako sa friends and continued to search on the net pero wala akong makitang better alternative.  One day, I came across Wesley Hotel na okay ang reviews and may available room sa Agoda.  To be sure, nagsearch ako ng reviews sa ibang site and oki rin.  But then, may nakita akong isang blog na super negative ang review especially in terms of customer service.  And laging ganun, tuwing may makikita akong mukhang okay, laging biglang may lalabas na negative.

Sabi nga ni Paul "Honey, give up, let go, yan na talaga."  Pero hindi pa rin ako nagpapapigil.  Since naglalaptop naman nun si Paul, I asked him to do the booking.

Then just a few weeks before our trip, nakita ko sa Agoda ang Newton Hotel.  Okay naman sa akin ang reviews and fit sa budget, hindi siya available sa booking.com.  i k/npab|ed the hotel and asked if they have an available room with twin beds, I have to be sure kasi may booking fee ang Agoda.  The hotel  was quick to respond na there's an available room.  And as I searched for reviews I came across HotelTravel.com which even offered a slightly cheaper price with no booking fee.  In a breeze, I booked Newton Hotel and after they confirmed, I cancelled Anne Black.

As it turned out, our stay at Newton Hotel was very satisfying.  Room is a bit small but okay for us.  Place was quiet, room was clean, view is okay.  There's a bathtub, electric kettle, TV (no cable), safety deposit box.  The location was excellent! It's just a 2-minute walk from Fortress Hill station of MTR.  There's a bus station nearby where the airport bus stops.  7-11, Yoshinoya, Burger King and other restaurants are walking distance from the hotel.

So what's so interesting about it? Wala lang, feeling ko lang I have a guardian angel with me throughout my hotel search, na parang someone or something guided me into picking the right hotel.

    Seven

When I was single, I was never that into kids.  It's okay to play with them for a while but I never imagined myself spending the whole day with them.  You see, I'm not into people who can't follow instructions easily.  This is the same reason why I don't like taking care of animals.

But of course I've always dreamt of having my own family.  I remember I had this old maid teacher in college who would brag about her achievements in life.  As I listened to her, I was so sure that I don't ever want to be like her...my life will be incomplete without my own family.  Having my own happy family became my greatest dream.

And so I was blessed to fall in love with a man who loved me in return and we got married.   We never planned to have a baby right away.  In fact, my period was already a month late before I decided to take a home pregnancy test...It was positive.  But I was doubtful of the result (or I was just in denial), that I went to Patient's First and have them do the pregnancy test for me...again it was positive.  Even with that, I still thought it may not be accurate since it was also just a urine test.  Finally, I went to an OB Gyne, showed her the result and she scheduled me for an untrasound.  It was only when I've actually viewed it on the monitor did I believe that I was pregnant.  I wasn't happy, I wasn't excited, I didn't want to be pregnant. I don't know why God gifted me with a baby so soon.  But then the people around me - my family, my in-laws, my officemates were all so happy and excited for me that it was hard to remain disappointed.  Pregnancy was a breeze, very seldom did I have morning sickness or cramps, no complications whatsoever.  And so the excitement finally sinked in and on August 2002, I gave birth to Yuan- made in Manila Hotel on the night after our wedding....kasama na pala namain  siya sa honeymoon sa Palawan. :)

After giving birth,  I was so sure that I would return to work after my maternity leave...and so I did.  I loved my job and never thought that I would ever give it up.  But as months draw by, my priorities changed.  I was missng Yuan so much while I was at work,  I regret missing his milestones.  To add to that, workload has become quite heavy and for some reason, I could never get a permanent yaya...I had 3 in one year!  And so on September 1st 2003, the day my promotion to Senior Team Lead took effect, I passed my resignation letter.  I left a very promising career because I wanted to be a fulltime mom.  A lot of people say "sayang"  but I don't agree.  Some people take it as I'm sacrificing my career for my son...but I view things the other way around - I was sacrificing the time I should be spending with my son for mere career and money.  It all boils down to what's important to you.  It took several months of prodding before Paul allowed me to resign because for him, his salary alone won't be enough for us to live a comfortable life but I was ready for the change in lifestyle.  As if God was on our side, a few weeks after I resigned Paul got a job offer in Singapore and we stayed there from 2003-2005.  To be a fulltime mom is a privilege not every one has because some really need to work to provide for their family.  God has given that privilege to me, and I'm glad I took it. :)

Our two years in Singapore was a very challenging adventure.  You see, I was a lazy child. So lazy that I would complain about simple household work like washing the dishes.  But when we lived in Singapore, I had to do everything as we didn't have a maid. It was difficult, it was challenging, but at the same time, it was bliss, an ideal family setup, a dream come true.  I was a fulltime mom in the very essence of that term.  And God was so good that he gave me a well behaved child and a very supportive husband.  I guess He really wanted me to enjoy motherhood. :)

By November 2005, Paul's contract ended and we decided to just go back here in Manila.  I want Yuan to study here as studying in Singapore is very demanding.  Paul was back to his old job and life was easier especially with a maid around.  January 2007, I got pregnant again.  It was a planned pregnancy.  We wanted to have a baby girl.  I even checked a Chinese calendar to know which months to conceive a girl.  Pregnancy was a bit difficult this time.  Morning sickness galore, and I feel like throwing up upon smelling several types of food.  I was so convinced I would have a baby girl.  Apparently, I was wrong and again, was disappointed. But after several weeks, I was able to accept my fate.  I gave birth to Yuro September 2007.  I may not have been given a baby girl but God made up for it as He gave me one that's so cute and so "bibo" :)

It's been said that when you're pursuing your destiny, all of nature conspire to help you achieve it.  For the past seven years, I felt God has been in control of my life...and I'm not complaining.  I planned to get back to work last April but my maid left and even now I still haven't gotten a replacement yet.  Maybe, God wants me to a be fulltime mom a little longer but I know it's not gonna be forever, and I'm enjoying it while it lasts....

Seven years ago, I made a decision that changed my life, and I'm glad I did because:
    - I witnessed every milestone that my children reached
    - I was there to comfort them everytime they're sick
    - I was able to take care of their every need.  Even with a maid around I was the one bathing my children, sterilizing bottles and putting milk in the dispensers, giving them vitamins/medicines, preparing their meals, helping Yuan in schoolwork and getting him ready for school, potty training, etc.
    - I'm there whenever they need assistance, and in their age they still need a lot of it.
    - I don't think I'll be this close to them if I had been a working mom
    - I have a lot of memories to treasure
    - Yuan and Yuro will only be kids for a few years, and I'm happy to have been a great part of it.

Thank you Lord for the privilege...
Thank you Paul, for the understanding and support....
Thank you Yuan and Yuro for an experience that no amount of money or success could ever match.

To all fulltime moms that I get to interact with - through Facebook and in Yuan's school,  you have all been an inspiration to me (without you knowing it).  I hope more women will get to experience the joy and fulfillment that motherhood brings. :)

    FB files

This is nothing but a compilation of Yuan and Yuro related posts I've made on Facebook.  Wala lang, misan masarap at nakakatuwang alalahanin. Indeed, the greatest perk of being a fulltime mom is experiencing life with your children. :)

Overheard Yuan and Yuro fighting and shouting "ang pangit mo" and "mas pangit ka" to each other. :D

Upon hearing the story of Adam, Eve and the evil serpent, Yuan asked "Mommy, di ba si God ang gumawa ng lahat ng animals?"

Yuan: Mommy, bakit pag 10 years old na, wala ng birthday party? Beng: Ano'ng 10 years old? 7 years old ang huling birthday party! Kaya ikaw, wala kang party sa birthday mo!.....after a while narealize ko, parang hindi ko yata nasagot ang tanong ng anak ko, feeling ko kasi nagpaparinig lang siya....hehe

Referring to Yuan's score in a quiz. Beng: Yuan, bakit 12 (out of 20) ka lang dito, naaral na natin 'to di ba?!

Beng:ano yun?... Yuan: I love you, mommy... :)

I said, "Wow kuya very good, ibig sabihin nagbasa ka (hindi nanghula)" And he proudly replied, "Nakapikit pa ko niyan mommy!" toinks!!!

Beng : Yuan, linisin mo nga yang kwarto mo. Beng: Ah ganun ba? Sige, gisingin mo na at tanghali na! ....

Kung ang panganay mo ay isang malaking asar at ang bunso ay isang malaking pikon tapos pareho silang malaking whiners...what do you do? what do you do???!!!
