The School Year that was

Hay, another school year has ended. Here's a summary of what transpired in my being a fulltime mom of a second grader.

1. Walang kamatayang kopya ng notes. Up to the very last day, nangokpya ako ng notes. This is so humbling kasi I have to approach mommies and ask kung pwede kumopya, syempre nakakahiya rin kasi natatagalan silang makauwi. Pero I did it every single school day, kahit gaano nakakahiya ginawa ko para sa anak ko.

2. First time ever to fail in Math test. This was my first disappointment this schoolyear.

3. First line of 7 sa card - first grading Filipino. Another disappointment.

4. Second line of 7 sa card - 3rd grading Computer, 79! This one iniyakan ko nang husto. Not because I was disappointed at Yuan but because I was so angry dun sa teacher. Once a week lang magkita, line of 7 pa grade!

5. First time to visit Villamor Airbase, thanks sa field trip. :)

6. Syempre nadagdagan ang friends na mommies. :)

It's been a year of challenges, disappointments, tears, laughters, friendships, pride, realizations and acceptance. Pero since lahat ay para sa anak ko, everything was worth the time and effort.

Noontime Porn

I'm not trying to be KJ or manang but I think sexy dance numbers in noontime shows are getting a bit overboard.

I can't remember when I last watched Wowowee but in that show there was this "showdown" part wherein two ASF dancers wearing a "bra" and p*kp*k shorts would do all sorts of sexy dance moves from "giling" to "shakes" to splits. To me the only thing that makes those numbers less of a "bar" dance is fast music and the absence of a pole. Here's a sample I found in youtube. Showdown starts @ 2:02

But this hot number from Bangs Garcia in ASAP last January 24 was just too "sexual" for a noontime show. Bangs' Bang!

And what's with "the tongue" on Christine Reyes's dance number in the Bora Episode of ASAP? Was that really necessary? Christine's beh @ 0:24

Sure, I enjoyed watching Bangs and Christine but I don't think I would want my children to see those moves.

Uyo says....

My 2-year old bunso, Yuro, is just sooooo talkative. As in mas madaldal pa siya sa kuya niya. Kahit saang usapan, nakikisingit. He can count from 1 thru 10, knows the basic colors, can sing ABC (although may bubol sa ibang letters) and kids' songs like Happy Birthday, Old MacDonald, Twinkle Twinkle, Mary Had a Little Lamb. Pati Nobody, Paparazzi at Poker Face tinatry kantahin.

One time, he wanted to use his daddy's gel. I said, hindi pwede kasi pang-daddy lang yun. Then he answered "Pang laki tiyan lang yun, mommy?" hahaha!

And minsan bigla-bigla lang ding magsasabi ng "o, kulangot" after taking out a booger or "wait, utot muna Uyo" hahaha!

bakit - "batet"
asan - "atan"
and syempre and pusa eh....."pu*a". hahaha

And when you ask him, ano name niya, "Uyo Umali"

In his words...

I've mentioned in one of my posts that Yuan is growing up like his dad - simpleng humirit, so I thought I'd also post some of my favorite quotes from Paul.

1. Most sincere and romantic:
Setting: Summer 1996, EA Tambayan, courting stage pa lang.
Paul: Kung magiging tayo, ayokong basta fling lang gusto ko may pupuntahan, I want you to be my wife.
I was so touched that I hugged him, maya-maya ayan na si Mang Jack at sinabing konting layo kasi may mga incoming freshmen sa campus. hahaha!

2. Most flattering:

3. Most Passionate (at least, the most wholesome na pwede kong ipost):
Setting: Singapore, 2005
I was fast asleep when I felt na may gumagapang sa akin, I found it so difficult to open my eyes as I was so sleepy.

4. Patawang pasweet: (early this year)
Napost ko na to sa Facebook:
Habang bumibili si Paul ng leather shoes:
Paul: Parang Vic Sotto.

-------------

Morning hiritan:

5. Simpleng prangka (just recently):
Paul: No.
hehe, pag magpataba, firm na "No" ang sagot!

Break

... is something everybody wants, everybody needs....a break from monotony, from a routine, from something you've been doing for a long time
... is temporary freedom
... is temporary pleasure
... is temporary escape

...and that's what makes it so exciting...so wanted...so enjoyed...because it's temporary...

Quotable Quotes From Yuan

Yuan is growing up like his Dad, simple humirit. Here, I've compiled some of Yuan's witty hirits....

"Nakakatawa ba yun mommy?" grrr...

2. One problem with Yuan is sobra siyang tamad magsulat. So pag weekend, pinagpapractice ko siyang magsulat.

4. Nung ni-lesson nila Yuan sa school ang story of creation, tinanong niya sa akin "Mommy, pa'no ginawa ni God ang light pero wala pang sun?" (Light was created on the 1st day, the sun on the 4th day)

5. One time, habang nasa biyahe kami at kinanakusap ko si Paul:
Yuro (bunso): Eh... hwag mommy usap daddy...
(gusto niya kasi kanya lang attention ko)
Me : Wawa naman daddy, bawal hawak, bawal kiss, bawal usap ni mommy? Eh paalisin na lang natin si Daddy. Wala na tayong daddy!
Yuan: Eh sino na driver natin mommy?!

hahaha, wawang daddy!

6. On our jeepney ride home, may nakita si Yuan na sign "Wanted Tindera".

7. Sa isang seatwork nina Yuan sa Religion, ang tanong eh : "Do you believe in life after death? Why or why not?" Ang sagot ni Yuan: "Why". hehehe!

Low

I guess once in a while we all reach a low point in our lives...and the hardest part is when you don't really know why. You just feel so lonely, so frustrated, so depressed. When you so badly want to be happy and yet you don't know what would make you happy. When you think that you have every reason to be happy and yet you feel you're missing something but you don't know what.

Sana merong medicine para sa ganung feelings. Like paracetamol for headache and fever. Just one pill to take the pain away, and make you feel so much better.
